I bought this because of the PID temperature control, but the temperature moved around more than I expected during longer cooks. I kept checking the grill because I wasn't confident it would stay near my selected setting.
It heats up quickly, keeps the temperature steady, and gives food a rich smoky flavor. The folding legs are convenient for camping or storing it when not in use. I’ve grilled steak, chicken, and ribs on it everything turned out juicy and perfectly cooked. The bronze finish also looks great on my patio.
The main reason I chose this model was the advertised temperature control. Unfortunately, mine hasn't been very consistent. During a long smoke, I noticed enough temperature variation that I had to keep adjusting and checking everything.
This BBQ handles family meals effortlessly. From burgers to chicken, it cooks everything evenly.
I’m really happy with this grill. The KingChii 456 SQ. IN Pellet Grill is powerful, well built, and easy to use. The PID temperature control keeps the heat perfectly steady, which makes smoking and grilling so much easier. The cooking area is large enough for several dishes at once, and the side shelf is super handy for prep.
Getting this grill ready to cook takes longer than I expected. Once it's hot, it works reasonably well, but waiting for it to reach the desired temperature makes quick meals much less convenient.
Versatile performance adapts to intimate dinners or lively celebrations through adjustable cooking zones and robust output.
One star is an over statement. I destroyed the king Chii smoker with a sledgehammer so that no one would mistakenly remove this piece of tin foil incinerator from the garbage where it belongs. Never been so dissatisfied with anything in my entire life. I wouldn’t give this to someone I didn’t like. If you would to smoke your meat at a cool 2500 degrees and like burnt tasteless meat and don’t have an oven you have found the right product. Ripped off four fan blades of the blower motor and temp will still not go under 450 degrees.
I had trouble with the pellet feeding during one of my longer cooking sessions. The temperature suddenly dropped and I had to check the hopper and pellets before I could continue cooking. Very frustrating experience.
Initial assembly presented minor challenges, yet flawless performance emerges with uniform cooking results-vegetables achieve ideal caramelization while proteins retain succulent textures. Construction demands moderate effort initially, but seamless heating consistency ensures crowd-pleasing meals at gatherings.
Lasted a little over 5 weeks till temp started going in the 400s when temp was set at 180.
This grill works better for low-temperature smoking than it does for high-heat grilling. I tried cooking steaks near the upper temperature range, but I couldn't get the strong sear I was hoping for.
I'm blown away by how durable this grill is. It takes heavy use like a champ and still gives top--notch results every cook.
I bought the two burner griddle for table top use. I cannot believe how quality this thing is. And how easily it went together, just screw in the feet, fit the griddle top, done. Heavy duty.
I expected the digital controls to make everything simple, but there was more of a learning curve than I anticipated. The instructions could be much clearer about startup, temperature adjustment, and the proper shutdown procedure.
It was a short meal of smoked sausages. They were quick to prepare and bursting with flavor. ideal for hectic days!
Any flat top would benefit greatly from this collection of tools. The kit is of high quality and comes with everything you could possible need. Although all of the tools and accessories are working out beautifully, I'm always worried when there are a lot of items included because quality tends to decline with number.
I like the overall idea of this grill, and it has enough cooking space for my family. Unfortunately, temperature fluctuations and slower heating keep it from being as convenient as I expected from an automatic pellet smoker.
I've noticed the temperature drops quite a bit whenever I open the lid to check the food. It eventually recovers, but sometimes it takes longer than expected. That can make longer cooking sessions even more time-consuming.
I knew pellet grills required cleaning, but this one needs more attention than I anticipated. Ash builds up around the fire pot and grease needs regular cleaning. The maintenance isn't difficult, just more frequent than I wanted.
This grill performs reasonably well when smoking ribs or pork at lower temperatures. For steaks and burgers, I wanted stronger high-heat performance. It works, but I don't get the kind of searing results I expected.
The hopper works fine for shorter cooking sessions, but I wish it held more pellets for longer smoking. I don't like having to think about checking the pellet level when I'm cooking something that takes several hours.
I expected the PID controller to keep the temperature more consistent during longer cooks. It usually stays reasonably close, but I've noticed several noticeable swings. The food still cooks fine, but I find myself checking the temperature more often than I expected.
I specifically chose this model because of the temperature controller, so I expected better stability. Mine tends to fluctuate during longer smoking sessions. It hasn't completely ruined a meal, but the performance isn't as consistent as I hoped.
The grill works and I've made some decent ribs and chicken with it, but temperature consistency hasn't been great. During longer smoking sessions, I sometimes have to make adjustments instead of simply setting the temperature and leaving it alone.
My biggest complaint is how long the grill takes to reach the temperature I want. Once everything is heated, cooking performance is acceptable. For quick burgers or a weeknight dinner, however, the startup time can be frustrating.
I've experienced several situations where the controller didn't seem to maintain the temperature I selected. The grill still cooked the food, but constantly watching the temperature defeats the reason I wanted an automatic pellet grill.
After several cooking sessions, I'm still not impressed with the overall performance. It can produce decent food, but the temperature variation, slow heating, and maintenance make it much less convenient than I expected.
I expected a pellet grill with automatic feeding and temperature control to require very little attention. Instead, I found myself regularly checking the pellets and temperature during longer smoking sessions. That's disappointing for this type of grill.
Opening the lid causes the temperature to drop, which is normal, but this grill seems to take too long to recover afterward. During longer cooks, that added more time than I had originally planned.
The grill looks nice, but some parts don't feel as sturdy as I expected for the price. Nothing broke immediately, but the overall construction didn't give me the confidence I was hoping for.
